Ooo, what’s that?

Until recently, I had never tried any of the We-Vibe products. I have a tendency to request things the whole world hasn’t tried when I have the opportunity because not everyone can afford to spend the kind of money required for luxury sex toys. I know I can’t. My collection has grown to the size it is merely because I review a lot, and I used to get paid for my writing in gift cards to that store you can’t trust. And back in the day, everyone wanted We-Vibe, so I went for other stuff.

Man. Am I kicking myself.

Pictured there are the We-Vibe Touch, and Thrill. In this review, I’m talking about the Touch. And let me tell you. It’s spectacular.

What’d it come in?

Okay, seriously? Sex toy manufacturers need to start including instructions on how to open their boxes. While this was one of the less annoying boxes to figure out, I did open it upside down, and almost dropped my Touch. All in all, though, the packaging is elegant and neat. And they used minimal materials, so that’s cool. It’s a white box with the toy on the front, and opens like a clam shell. I can’t bring myself to recycle it and use the storage bag. It’s just too convenient to stack boxes, rather than stuff a bunch of bags in a bin. Plus, I don’t have a bin.

How’s it made?

I really dig the design of this one. I wasn’t sure that I would. Since I’ve mostly been a “pinpoint stimulation” kinda gal in the past, I figured I’d poo-poo off the delectable little dip on what I’ve begun calling the “back” of the toy. I was worried about the broad “head” because I find the wider the diameter of the toy, the more diffuse the vibrations at the tip. Which, I mean, that makes sense. The more surface area there is, the more room the vibration has to spread out when it moves.

However, the vibrations are just as strong at the tip as they are in the rest of the toy. And when I say strong, I’m able to get off with the Touch on the lowest setting almost as quickly as I get off with a LELO vibe on high. And I don’t even use the tip. That delectable dip I mentioned? Well, I didn’t call it delectable for nothing.

The Touch is made of 100% body safe silicone, which means it’s shareable and can be disinfected. It’s rechargeable, which is awesome because I dunno about you, but I’m often too broke to convince myself it’s okay to buy batteries for my vibrators. Plus, I have no idea where to recycle batteries around here, so the more rechargeable stuff we have, the less batteries end up in the landfill. It’s also completely waterproof, which is a good part of the draw for me, too, because I almost always get water inside the battery housing of my vibrators. Kills ’em quick.

I don't even want to talk about how long it took me to clone all the cat hair out of this picture.

I don’t even want to talk about how long it took me to clone all the cat hair out of this picture.

The way it recharges, though, kinda bugs me. I love the idea. There’s this little disc that plugs into the cord you plug into the wall and then sort of clicks on the bottom of the toy. But the magnets aren’t super strong, and it’s kinda wobbly, so if you don’t lay it on a mostly flat surface, the disc will pop off. And it’s easy to bump off the magnets by mistake. I suppose this is great for safety, though. You don’t have to worry about accidentally destroying the port by tripping over your toy and sending it flying. Not that I’ve done that or anything. Ahem.

The Touch is relatively quiet, as bullet vibes go. It’s got eight vibration settings, ranging from a low rumble to an up-tempo cha-cha. And it remembers where you left it. If that’s not enough to sell you, read about my experience below.

What’s it for?

The Touch is meant to stimulate your clitoris and other erogenous zones. It’s great for solo time and partner play. Its size and shape make it an excellent addition to intercourse, too.

How is it?

I love the We-Vibe Touch so much I’m selling my Siri. No joke.

Okay, I’m really selling Siri because I’m running out of room for all these damn sex toys. The Touch is the first vibe I’ve tried that topped Siri, giving me the masturbatory freedom to find Siri a new home.

I bought the Siri a while back, and don’t use it anymore because I’m terrified I’m going to ruin it while washing it. Plus, I can never remember to charge it, and it, too, has joined the ranks of vibrators that, when not handled properly, send me straight from the beginning of an orgasm into “OMFG DON’T TOUCH MY PUSSY!!!” without ever really allowing me to enjoy the actual orgasm part.

Most of all the charging part, though. I mean, if you can’t be convinced to give up precious outlet space for a vibrator, don’t consistently remember to plug it in after you use it (or even remember where the hell the charger got off to), you’re not overly attached to the thing.

It took noticing that the plug to the Touch was always plugged into the wall, and I was consistently connecting them without even thinking about it for me to realize I’ll probably never use Siri again. Why settle for vanilla substitute (which is often an extract from beavers…I wish I was joking) when you can get the real deal for $10 less?

Also, I’m thinking vibrators should not be so tricky to use that there’s such a thing as “cumming wrong”. I mean, this never happens with my fingers, and they came free with the purchase of life, which means they had to just magically evolve over millions of years. So I suppose it’s only natural that vibrators would be substandard since they’ve only had about 300 years of evolution, give or take a few. But one would assume that something people actually conspire to create would develop at a much more rapid pace, and to a much higher quality than something that developed by magic.

You guys…that shit does not happen with the Touch. I could probably cum over and over and over again until I’m a sputtering, stupid mess with this thing without ever skipping the best part of a single orgasm. I haven’t tested this theory, yet. But believe me, I will.

The first time I used it, I was determined to try the whole nestling the clit with the dip thing because all these people are always raving about how awesome it is to have a vibe that covers the entire clit rather than just the tip, and I wanted to try it out. I mean, truth be told, I have a teeny clit, so most vibrators cover my whole clit, but not like the Touch does. I can’t quite explain it. It’s just…different.

It feels different. I cum different. Different is good. Everybody’s happy.

The first time I used it was with M. It was originally supposed to be a blow job for an orgasm, but he never can keep it in my mouth long when I’m fucking myself. He always wants to be down there where my hands are. And this time, when he slid in, I decided to keep going.

The Touch fits perfectly. It’s small enough that I can slide it between him and me without it jamming into my pubic bone or smashing my clit awkwardly. The handle is wide enough that my arthritic knuckles don’t cramp up while I manipulate the toy between us. The silicone provides the perfect amount of drag. The vibrations do this weird thing that feels like they’re dancing across the head of my clit and down into the legs and…

Man, why do I always write reviews during the one week of the month that I don’t play with sex toys? Oh, right. I’m a masochist.

Anything else I should know?

Never submerge this toy in boiling water. Just because it’s waterproof doesn’t mean it’s boiling waterproof, and you’re not gonna want to ruin this toy.

You can clean this with a 10% bleach/90% water solution if you feel it necessary, but a nonabrasive anti-bacterial soap is really all you need unless you’re sharing.

The toy’s charge port is compatible with the charger for the Thrill and the Tango, so if you’re traveling, you need only bring one charger. If you’re traveling abroad, the Thrill’s charger is perfect because it uses a USB port, meaning you don’t have to get an adapter, even!

Where’d ya get it?

We-vibe sent us the Touch free of charge in exchange for an honest review. As the company’s name suggests, We-Vibe began making toys to offer couples something that was body safe and usable during penis-in-vagina intercourse. Their products have won multiple awards since, including the Touch finding its way into my Ecstasy Bag (which needs updating).
