The Versatile Blogger Award

August 31st, 2010

Here are the rules for this award:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award
2. Share seven things about you
3. Nominate 15 newly discovered blogs
4. Let your nominees know about the award

Okay, so I totally forgot about this award, cause I suck.  But it was given to me by Misfit Momma, and I’m totally appreciative, though I’m not sure what I did to deserve it.  But I guess “versatile” fits, since I blog about whatever comes to mind, and not just one topic.  So thanks!! 🙂

Seven Things About Me:

1. I have an extra hole in both my ears.  I mean, besides my piercings.  It started with just one ear, but another has developed as I’ve grown older.

They’re basically extra ear canals, only about the size of a needle, and they’re not located in the same spot as my ear canal, but the fold over it.  You have to use a magnifying glass to see them.  They don’t function like ear canals, but occasionally they drain fluid and get infected.

2. In my Beautiful Blogger Award post, I mentioned an activism project I was working on.  It’s basically defunct.  Keeping up with my responsibilities, reconnecting with M, and trying to get fit, is pretty much taking up all my time.

I’ll pick it up again, some day.  I still really believe in it, and I wish I had more time for it.  But right now, I need to be focusing my attentions elsewhere.

3. That kind of bothers me, because the world needs it now.  But I don’t have time to maintain it, or get it the exposure it needs to bring about the change I’d like to see.  So for now, I’ll just have to try other, less time-consuming venues.

4. I haven’t had soda in a month.  Except that once when we drank whiskey.  And even then, I drank it with sour mix and water (more water than sour mix) more than the soda.  I’ve been drinking lots of water, instead.

5. For all the changes I’ve made to my lifestyle, I haven’t lost pound one.  I also haven’t gained any weight, so I guess that’s progress.  And for some reason, anything sweet starts to make me nauseous after only a bite or two.  Interesting development.

6. When I make a typing error, instead of just using the mouse to move the cursor to the mistake, I backspace to the error, no matter how far back it is, and rewrite everything from there on.  I… am a weirdo.  But if you’ve been reading me for any amount of time, I’m sure you knew that.

7. I love myself.  I know how that sounds.  But please believe me when I say that is not arrogance.  It’s a realization that caught me completely off guard.

I’ve spent so much of my life hating myself.  Focusing only on my flaws, and ignoring the fact that there are some really awesome things about me.  Just recently, I realized there are more awesome things about me than shitty things.  And it’s really nice being able to honestly say that I love myself.  Flaws and all.

Fifteen Blogs:

Omigosh, fifteen? Do I even read fifteen? Hold on… Lemme look.

  1. Kaya from Under His Hand, because she writes about being a mom, and a wife, and a slave, and a gramma, and a 50s housewife (sort of), and… God, just everything that sneaks into her pretty little head.  I luffs her muchly.  And I think this is the first time I’ve been ale to give an award to her that she hasn’t already gotten! (Do NOT burst my bubble if you’ve already gotten this one, woman! Lol.)
  2. Kyle from Butchtastic, because he writes about genderqueer issues, being a transdad, polyamory, and some amazing erotica.  Among other things, of course.
  3. And I can’t give this award to Kyle without also giving it to his beautiful (in every meaning of the word) woman Roxy from Uncommon Curiosity, who blogs about sex, sexuality, BDSM, being in a LDR with a transgendered person, being a mom, and much more.  Someone I should probably try to talk to more, because she’s just that awesome, but to be honest, her beauty intimidates me.
  4. Rori from Between My Sheets.  All you have to do is look at her list of categories to see why.  I think it’s longer than mine!
  5. Saynine from a blog of the same name, who writes about being pansexual, real life BDSM experiences, edge play, and polyamory, among other things.
  6. Rockin’ from Light Switch, who writes about sexuality, being a switch, life in general, and marvelous reviews.
  7. Holy crap, I’m only on seven.
  8. Lilly from This Could Be Dangerous, because really, is there anything this woman can’t do?
  9. I’m not sure if this is cheating, since it’s more of a community than a blog now, but I’m gonna give this award to the whole blogging crew at Submissive Guide, and especially Luna, cause they really do cover a lot, and I really admire what they’re trying to do.  I’m not including myself in this, because that would just be tacky.  But everyone else there does a really good job of trying to cover all facets of submission.
  10. Jenpet and her owner over at Roles Defining Rules, who haven’t posted in a while, but still do a really good job of discussing the difficulties and rewards of living as master and slave while trying to raise a family, go to school, and maintain a career.
  11. Oi vey, four more.
  12. Kristi from N.E.K.: The Cuntinuing Adventures, who writes about being a 30-something virgin, sex toys, the issues, life in general, and is just a kick ass person to know.
  13. Kayla from Kinky World, who mostly does reviews, but I would feel remiss if I didn’t include her.  She’s just that good.
  14. All the writers at Eden Cafe (who have my permission to ignore this award completely), because they cover just about every topic under the sun, from feminism, to politics, to body image, to sexuality, to… Oh, just everything!
  15. You! Yes, you! All of you out there reading who have a blog, and talk about their lives deserve this award.  So keep on keepin’ on.  Cause you all rock!

Shut up, I did not cheat.

Oh, sweetie, thank you so much. But, truly, you’re making me blush, and, really I’m not intimidating at all (unless you’re at the other end of my paddle…)

Thank you for really lifting my day and giving me this award.
