Product Review: Athena Waterproof Mini-Massager by The Berman Center

February 26th, 2010

Ooo, what’s that?

The style is known as a pocket-rocket.  The product is Athena Waterproof Mini-Massager by The Berman Center.

What’d it come in?

That purple cardboard box in the picture, there.  It comes with a instructions, a purple mesh drawstring bag to store the toy and four different heads.

How’s it made?

The body is made up mostly of transparent purple ABS plastic.  It’s four inches long and an inch wide.  The top has four metal contact points which, you can see by looking through the toy, don’t touch the motor in any way.

On the side, you’ll see the bottom has a white arrow and the top has the words “Open”, “Off”, and “On”.  Simply turn the bottom till the arrow matches “Open” and pull.  Drop a AA battery in the bottom, positive side up, and screw the bottom back into the top till the arrow matches “On”.

The four different tips are made of TPR and fit snugly over the top.  One is domed.  One has five flat raised nubs.  One has twelve pointy raised nubs.  And the last has a number of little pointy raised nubs.

What’s it for?

The Athena is for stimulating the clitoris, labia and erogenous zones.  But it can also be used to massage sore joints and fingers.

How is it?

Rayne’s Rating:
Pros: Cons:
powerful motor
pretty storage bag
waterproof
hair gets caught on metal
doesn’t hurt

You ready for this?

I was disappointed because the pointy nubs didn’t hurt.  So don’t buy this toy if you’re looking for something to turn your clit into hamburger.

What’s that you say? You’re not? Then this toy isn’t so bad.

It’s got a powerful little motor.  It’s not overly loud.  It’s super easy to use.  And it’s decently priced.

The soft tips are perfect for people who like different textures.

It’s waterproof so I can take it in the shower with me.

It does wonders for my neck when I have a tension headache and feels great on my temples when it’s a migraine.  Just be sure you pop one of the four soft tips on the end if you’re going anywhere near your hairline.  Occasionally, my hair gets caught in the metal on the end when I’m using it on my neck.

How do you care for it?

Wash it with soap and water or spray it down with a toy cleaner.  Store the massager and the tips in the mesh bag it comes with.  You can even store the battery in there.  It’s rather roomy.

Where’d ya get it?
