NS(K)Q: Q70 – How do I know?

Question 70:

I do a lot of dating site dating. It’s just as much of a clusterfuck as you can imagine. It’s like people on dating sites think other dating site users are just sex dolls waiting around to pleasure them. And the dick pics! Ohhh the dick pics. Don’t these boys know that if we want to look at their dicks, we’ll ask? Anyway…this is how I found BDSM. One of the profiles I was looking at mentioned it, and I googled it, and now I’m really intrigued. But I don’t know what, exactly, I’m intrigued by. Like, do I want to be a domme or a sub? Do I want to be spanked or do the spanking? I DON’T KNOW!!! So that’s my question. How do I know?

The simple answer is trial and error. Read more…

Kinktionary: Flogger

March 3rd, 2016 1 comment

FloggerComparisonDue to their versatility, floggers are probably the most popular whips among sadists and masochists alike. Often referred to as a “cat of nine tails,” a flogger is a whip that usually has a rigid handle and at least nine “tails” or “falls” that are used to whip the bottom of the scene.

Generally speaking, floggers fall on the lower end of the pain spectrum, usually producing a more thuddy sensation. Of course, this depends on the material they’re made of, the weight and width of the falls, and whether the tips are cut at an angle or straight across. A rubber flogger with angled tips will sting like the dickens, whereas a leather flogger with blunt tips will feel more like a percussion massage.

How a flogger feels also depends a great deal on the person doing the whipping. A more experienced top will be better able to control their aim and the strength of the blow, which can enhance the way a flogger is feels to the bottom a great deal. Read more…

NS(K)Q: Q51 – What is erotic spanking?

Question 51:

I know this sounds like a really dumb question, but my parents spanked me, and I can’t imagine that ever being erotic. What is erotic spanking? And why do people get off on it?

It’s not a dumb question, actually. It’s a totally logical question. Especially from someone who was spanked as a child. Read more…

Book Review: Carrie’s Story and Safe Word by Molly Weatherfield

March 4th, 2015 2 comments

CarriesStorySafeWordOoo, what’s that?

So I decided to review these two books together because they really are inseparable. You can’t read one and not read the other. That’s just the way it is.

They are Carrie’s Story and Safe Word by Molly Weatherfield. And while I like the writing style, and the story is believable, I’m really kinda on the fence about the meat and potatoes.

How is it?

Rayne’s Rating:
Pros: Cons:
realistic characters
realistic BDSM scenes
hot sex scenes
I’m on the fence about the plot.
Consent’s a little murky.

I need to start by saying that I really wish publishers would put warnings on fictional kink books. Nothing major; just a short “Some of the acts in this book are ill-advised. Please educate yourself in kink before participating.” or something.

I know my opinion is an unpopular one. People consider warnings on books censorship. But a warning isn’t the same thing as telling someone not to read them.

People also feel like you shouldn’t have to tell someone not to use a fictional story about BDSM as a guide on how to get started, but you have to tell people not to put hemorrhoid cream in their mouth, and not to take their toasters in the bathtub with them, so why wouldn’t you have to tell people not to use a fictional story about BDSM as a guide?

We put warnings on coffee, and television shows, and bags of dirt, and freakin commercials with flying cars. Books seem like they could use a warning occasionally, too. Especially in the wake of 50 Shades. Read more…

NS(K)Q: Q46 – BDSM and Pregnancy

January 23rd, 2015 3 comments

NoStupidKinkQuestionsGandhi said that if you want to change the world, you have to be the change you want to see. To that end, Insatiable Desire brings you No Stupid (Kink) Questions, a series of questions asked by novice kinksters around the web. If you have a question for us, leave it in comments, or send it to rayne (at) insatiabledesire (dot) com with “NS(K)Q” in the subject.

Question 45:

My question is about BDSM while pregnant. Neither my husband or I are into much S&M since we don’t care for pain that often, but we do like some hard sex, spanking, and choking me. I found out I’m pregnant around Thanksgiving and was wondering if you had any advice on being safe? I don’t want to harm the baby but I also don’t want to cut out this part of our relationship completely (especially since he has a pregnant fetish). Any advice or words of wisdom?

I want to preface this with “I am not a doctor.” It might actually be a good idea to be open with your doctor about your sexuality and ask him or her what they feel is the best course of action. You might be pleasantly surprised by their reaction. There are some risks, of course. You have to do what you feel is best. But you could feel the doc out before telling them everything by asking what they think about erotic spanking, or whatever.

A lot of my advice will be based on my own experiences with rough sex and pregnancy (I didn’t actually participate in what most people consider BDSM until after my youngest child was born), and some information I’ve found in various sources. Read more…

I hate that fucking paddle.

January 6th, 2015 4 comments

We’ve got this paddle from MauiKink. It’s a really awesome paddle. Sturdy, well made, beautiful.

And I fucking hate it.

I didn’t always, just like I didn’t always have a practically virginal ass.

When it first arrived on our doorstep, I was pretty much in love. Either my pain tolerance was higher back then, or Master was nicer. I’m thinking it’s probably the former. M’s always been a bastard.

This weekend, Master shoved me over the side of the bed, and then picked up the Frat Bat. By the second wallop, I was ready to snatch it from his hands and show him what it felt like. I reared up off the bed, fisted my hands in the comforter, tried with everything in me not to move my ass.

At least half the reason he usually ties me up when he beats me is I’ve never been all that good at mental bondage.

The sex was amazing. The paddle sucked.

In the morning, he rolled over and said, “You were a good girl last night.”

I smiled. We kissed and cuddled for a few minutes. And then I said, “I hate that fucking paddle.”

He smiled. We kissed and cuddled some more. And he said, “Then I guess I just have to use it till you love it. You will, you know.”

Bastard.
