Rayne’s been bugging everyone for a guest post defining their kinky selves for the writing project Thirty Days of Kink. Next up, Jade of Pieces of Jade.

As Scarlet Lotus says in her first 30 Days of Kink post, much of what I have been writing about all along in my blog has been about just that: discovering who I am in kink, musing on where I’ve been, talking about where I am now, exploring where I’m going. It’s been, and continues to be, a wild ride.

I’ve been practicing BDSM for about 10 years now, off and on, and in those years have learned much about myself and what makes me tick, and yet I am still learning, all the time, and it is still hard to pin just one label on myself. Read more…

Sometimes, the approach makes all the difference.

Awhile back… A few years, at least.  M and I were on completely different pages when it came to pain play.

Not in the “one of us wanted it, one of us didn’t” sense.  Or even that we were interested in different levels of extremes.

Somewhere along the line, I got my wires crossed.  No matter what was going on, every time M wanted to play with me, I thought I was being punished.  I used to blame Him.  His approach was off, or He’d punished me with pain so often that I’d come to believe that was its only purpose.

I don’t think there was blame to lay.  I think at the time the pain play was hurting my feelings.  Especially when emotional sadism was involved.  This is purely speculation, though.  I never really took the time to analyze it.  Read more…
