Product Review: Warming Massage Glide by System JO

March 12th, 2010 2 comments

Ooo, what’s that?

Every time a new massage oil shows up on our doorstep, M asks me a variation of the question, “Don’t we have enough?”

My answer? Not in the least.  I’m on the hunt for “the perfect massage oil” and let me tell you… System JO’s definitely on the right track.  This is Warming Massage Glide, a personal lubricant and massage oil, by System JO.

What’d it come in?

It comes in a clear plastic recyclable bottle with a black push-top lid.  It’s four and one-half fluid ounces.  The label is red and silver and lists a lot of hefty claims.

What’s in it?

Ingredients: polydimethylsiloxane, decamethylcyclopentasiloxane, octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane, dimethylsiloxane, hydroxy-terminated, capsium (cayenne), peppermint essential oil

Polydimethylsiloxane is sometimes called “dimethicone” and is often used in shampoo, contact lenses, elastomers, medical devices, caulking, lubricating oils and heat resistant tiles.  It’s clear, shiny and slick.  And it’s an organic polymer.  Read more…

Product Review: Intimate Moments Gift Set by Kama Sutra

January 15th, 2010 2 comments

Ooo, what’s that?

That? That’s just the Intimate Moments Gift Set by Kama Sutra.  It contains a bottle of Sweet Almond Massage Oil, some Sweet Honeysuckle Honey Dust and a feather applicator.

What’d it come in?

The gift set came in a nice green and cream cardboard box with a see-through plastic cut out in the front.  Like all of Kama Sutra’s packaging, the box is modest and elegant in its design.

Inside, trapped in tightly molded plastic (as in, I had trouble getting everything out of it), you’ll find a plastic 4 oz. bottle of Sweet Almond Massage Oil, the feather applicator and a metal cylinder.  Inside the cylinder is the usual satin drawstring pouch (in black for this kit) covering a plastic bag that’s twist-tied closed.

What’s in it?

Massage oil: Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Pistacia Vera Seed Oil, C 12-15, Alkyl Benzoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Frangrance, Tocopheryl Acetate, Aplpha-Isomenthyl Ionone, Benzyl Benzoate, Citronellol, Coumarin, Limonene, Linalool  Read more…

Product Review: Babeland Body Essentials Kit by Babeland Toys

October 24th, 2009 Comments off

BabelandBodyEssentialsPleasureWe’re growing ever more addicted to massage oils and massages.  Between the scents we’ve tried and watching M visibly relax into the mattress, it’s become something I adore even as my hands begin to ache with the effort.  So when Babeland Toys offered the Babeland Body Essentials Kit in Pleasure for review, I ignored all the other options.  We are, after all, still on the hunt for the perfect massage oil.

I was a ball of excitement when the UPS guy finally dropped it off.  And then I left it sitting on the dresser for… a week? At least.

When I opened Pleasure’s clear blue plastic case, I got a little worried.  Her Lickable Oil and BabeLicious are both Mojito Peppermint.  M isn’t much of a mint fan.

A proper mojito, for those not in the know, is made with lime juice, mint leaves, pure cane sugar, good rum and a dash of soda water.  They’re often garnished with a piece of sugar cane and a sprig of mint leaves.  They go down easy, quench your thirst and give you a warm, comfy buzz, without leaving you feeling icky in the morning.  And they happen to be my favorite drink to relax with.  Read more…

Product Review: Lust for Love Edible Massage Oil by Lust Cosmetics

September 20th, 2009 Comments off

lustmassageoilflavorsRemember a while back when I won that giveaway held by DominaDoll and Lust Cosmetics? I still haven’t gotten around to trying the product again so I can review it.  I’m going to have to do that soon.

But! Lust Cosmetics sent me some of their other products to try.  Among them are three of the four flavors they carry of Lust for Love Edible Massage Oil.  They sent me Wanton Watermelon, Hot Caramel Craving and Creamcicle (It also comes in Cherried Treasure).  And oh. my. god, do they taste good.

Can I just say that again before I dive into my review? They taste phenomenal.

Lust for Love Edible Massage Oil comes in a white and silver 1.01oz (30ml) bottle sporting a label matching the flavor (green for watermelon, orange for creamcicle and a creamy beige for caramel) with the company’s pretty lady in red lingerie.  It has a pump top that dispenses the perfect amount in three quick pumps, which is so much less wasteful and easier to use than the pour top on other brands.  The pump is protected by a clear snap-on top (think mousse lid) and it was all wrapped up in shrink wrap with a perforated strip for shipping.

It’s not actually an oil.  On the label, the ingredients are listed as: Read more…

Product Review: Treasure Trove Gift Tin by Kama Sutra

September 19th, 2009 Comments off

TreasureTroveGiftTinI’ve been lusting over the Treasure Trove Gift Tin since I started working at The Earth Shop, a (now out of business) chain of green stores that plagued the malls up here.  I loved that store.

We were required to give demonstrations of any products that came with testers.  And I was probably the only employee that would demonstrate the Oil of Love.  Of course, the only reason I wanted to demonstrate it was so I could taste it again.  I’ve tried every flavor of the Oil of Love except the tangerine.  I can’t wait to get that one.

All of the products in this gift tin are edible except the feather.  Although, I suppose, if you really wanted to, you could eat the feather.  I doubt it’ll be very tasty, though.

On of the products in this tin is Honey Dust to dust on the skin with the brown and black feather applicator.  It adds a light aroma and sweet flavor to your skin.

Another is the Stimulating Pleasure Balm, which is meant to tease you and your lover’s intimate bits with a gentle tingle.

And, of course, the Oil of Love, which heats with friction and is, by far, my favorite of the bunch.

One of our best purchases yet.
