Ooo, what’s that?

Fifty Shades of Grey Insatiable DesireSoooo…

We all know how I feel about Fifty Shades of Grey, right? I’ve only read one book, so far, because, just ugh. I mean, I get that people (especially college-age people) enter into insanity-based relationships like that one–I used to be one of them–but to glorify it by weaving it into an erotic tale and then paint it as “normal BDSM” is just…ew.

For this reason alone, I was set to ignore the Fifty Shades of Grey toy line. I don’t want anything to do with something that E.L. James had a hand in. That author, as she has freely admitted, has no idea what she’s doing when it comes to kink. She did very little research before writing the series, and that’s evident in the fact that her “red room” looks exactly like every stereotypical dungeon (with the added benefit of a bed) you’ve ever heard about ever. I expected every toy in the line to follow the same vein (and based on appearances, I’d say it does), so I wrote it off as something I was so not interested in promoting, even by accident, and promptly ignored all the hype about this line.

Then they named a toy Insatiable Desire. So of course, I had to try it. I mean, it’s got the same name as my blog!

I’m so angry it’s got the same name as my blog. Read more…

Ooo, what’s that?

That would be the Lia Magic Wand.  I can already see you size queens looking at her and rolling your eyes.  Wait till you hear what I have to say before dismissing her completely!

What’d it come in?

The Lia came in a molded plastic sleeve inside of a clear plastic box decorated with flowers and a description of the toy.

How’s it made?

Lia is nine inches (six and a quarter insertable) of pink, purple or white silicone (mine’s pink), with a diameter of an inch and a quarter.  It’s phthalates and latex free.  Bumpy and soft and firm.  And the tip curves ever so nicely to hug your g-spot.  Read more…

Product Review: Couture Collection Sublime by California Exotics

April 23rd, 2010 Comments off

Ooo, what’s that?

That’s my second Couture Collection vibrator from California Exotics.  After receiving the Ecstasy, I was a little worried about Sublime, knowing that lines of toys tend to stick to the same motors and such.  But Sublime has actually become one of my go-to toys when M says I can play.

What’d it come in?

This CalExotics toy came in a white cardboard box that is slightly more sturdy than their traditional white boxes.  However, there’s still next to nothing protecting the toy, and there was even more space inside for the toy to flop around in.

How’s it made?

The insertable end of Sublime is about six and one-half inches of white medical grade silicone with a diameter of about an inch and a half.  It’s soft and flexible in all the right places, but dense and firm at the tip.  And the last four inches are curved upward slightly with graduated bulging waves.

On the front are a small power button and a much larger button CalExotics is calling a “feather-touch controller” -that lights up when you turn the toy on- to control the vibrations.  It has three steady vibrations, each stronger than the last, and four pulsation variables (one escalating, one slow staccato, one fast staccato, and one that’s three short and one long pulse).  Read more…

Product Review: iTap G-Vibe by California Exotics

January 22nd, 2010 Comments off

ce-0523-40-3-img-1Ooo, what’s that?

That’s none other than the innovative iTap G Vibe from California Exotics‘s new iTap line.

What’d it come in?

The iTap G-vibe came wrapped in a thin plastic bag flopping around inside a loose, crushed, white cardboard box.  I assume the box was crushed in transit.  The box sports a picture of the vibe and blue lettering describing the toy.

How’s it made?

This vibe is made of white plastic and Velvet Cote.  It’s phthalates and latex free and hypoallergenic.  It’s seven and one-half inches long, six of those being insertable, and one inch in diameter.

The material is firm and unforgiving, as plastic so often is.  The curved end is dull enough that it doesn’t feel like you’re taking a screwdriver to your g-spot, but thin enough for direct clitoral stimulation when used externally.  And the Velvet Cote surface is soft and satiny, with a good amount of drag.  Read more…

Product Review: Fusion Duality by Evolved

October 5th, 2009 Comments off

When Babeland Toys showed me the waterproof Fusion Duality by Evolved, I was skeptical.  Anyone who knows me knows I’m very visually oriented.  So the beauty of a vibe turns me on to it almost as much as the other aspects.  And in the pictures, the Duality looks flat and plain.

But I figured, what the hell.  You can’t even begin to judge a vibrator by its photograph.  And when Cin told me she was reviewing it, too, I thought, “Opportunity! Here’s our chance to compare our vibe tastes!”

When it arrived, I ripped into the box, barely taking my eyes off it long enough to avoid tripping up the stairs.  I didn’t realize the Duality was by Evolved until I opened the box, so imagine my surprise when I pulled a white tin sporting “Evolved” in purple letters floating on black trim out of the plain brown cardboard.  It was instantly obvious that the photographs of this toy do not do it justice.  Read more…

Product Review: Diamond Lustre by Evolved

October 4th, 2009 Comments off

I am deprived!  I only recently discovered my g-spot and when Vibrator.com offered me the Diamond Lustre, a g-spot vibrator by Evolved, I hadn’t found it yet. So a g-spot vibrator to add to my repertoire of things to aid in my search was just what I was looking for.

It just so happened that a week or so before I recieved the Diamond Lustre, I found my g-spot with the WWV. And it was amazing. So I was even more excited when the Diamond Lustre arrived.

When I pulled this toy out of the box, I ooo’ed and ahh’ed all over the place. It’s beautifully adorable in its tiny brushed silver tin with Evolved printed in black against a red bar across a clear plastic window, through which you can see the toy. It rests beautifully in molded foam with red lining on top. On the back of the box is the toy’s description.

The Lustre is made of black plastic with a soft, satiny finish.  It has no odor or taste.  It’s phthalate free and body safe.  It’s got sixteen diamond rhinestones circling the bottom just above the dial on the bottom that controls the toy’s settings. It’s thin, light and hard with a hooked tip for direct g-spot stimulation. There is no give to this toy. But because of how small it is, that’s not really a problem.  Read more…
