Review Preview: Vondage by Stockroom.com

July 12th, 2016 Comments off

Screen Shot 2016-07-12 at 9.18.59 AMThis is not a review. I repeat: This is not a review! It’s a review preview! The review will come later. I promise.

I don’t think I’ve ever done this before. Probably because I don’t remember ever being this impressed.

This is Vondage, a fully vegan bondage set by Stockroom.com. And I am absolutely gaga over the cuffs. So gaga that I just had to tell you all about them, rtfn.

I received the entire Vondage set (wrist cuffs, ankle cuffs, collar, leash, hogtie strap, blindfold–sold separately) on July 6th, and I literally haven’t taken the cuffs off except to do things that involve my hands and food or harsh chemicals. Or if we’re leaving the house, cuz it’s shorts weather, and I’m pretty sure my neighbors would lose their shit if they saw me walking around in locking black leather-looking cuffs.

Aside from wearing them constantly, I haven’t used them enough, yet, to write a full out review, but I can say that, as a 24/7 bondage tool, Vondage is #1 on my list.

Yep. You read right. #1. Read more…

Kinktionary: Kolar

Collar

A Gorean “onlineism.” In the Gor novels, it’s explained that a collar is is called a “ko-lar,” but it is understood that this is the phonetic spelling, and not how the word is actually spelled.

quotationShe was kneeling down and I knelt across from her. “La Kajira,” said Eta, pointing to herself. “Tu Kajira,” she said, pointing to me. “La Kajira,” I said, pointing to myself. “Tu Kajira,” I said, pointing to Eta. I am a slave girl. You are a slave girl, Eta smiles. She pointed to her brand. “Kan-lara,” she said. She pointed to my brand. “Kan-lara Dina,” she said. I repeated these words. “Ko-lar,” she said, indicating her collar. “It is the same word in English,” I cried. She did not understand my outburst. Gorean, as I would learn, is rich in words borrowed from Earth languages; how rich it is I am not a skilled enough philologist to conjecture.

Slave Girl of Gor, p. 80

John Norman never gave the actual Gorean spelling of the word. Regardless, many online Gorean role-players call a collar a “kolar” in their text-based scenes and dialogue.

Review: NS Novelties Sinful Collar and Cuffs

Excuse the weird image quality. I’m having issues with WordPress displaying images differently than Photoshop. Probably something to do with my settings.

Ooo, what’s that?

That would be NS Novelties Sinful restraints line. And I really, really wanted to call it vegan. Was ecstatic to be able to offer ethical vegans a vegan restraints set that, for me, is so much better than the Fresh set that was so popular back in the day. But alas, they used leather for the strap on the leash. So the cuffs are vegan, and the collar is vegan, but the leash that comes with the collar is not. Poo.

If you’re not an ethical vegan, though, you’re gonna love this whole set. I know I do! Read more…

NS(K)Q: Q61 – When To Collar

February 19th, 2016 Comments off

NoStupidKinkQuestionsGandhi said that if you want to change the world, you have to be the change you want to see. To that end, Insatiable Desire brings you No Stupid (Kink) Questions, a series of questions asked by novice kinksters around the web. If you have a question for us, leave it in comments, or send it to rayne (at) insatiabledesire (dot) com with “NS(K)Q” in the subject.

Question 61:

What would be the proper time frame for from the first time you connect with someone from an online site as a potential slave or Master/Dom to becoming owners of or owned as property? Do you meet the person first, particularly if it’s a “Relocation” deal? If so, how long? I know each situation is different, but seems like dragging it out too long would be a turn-off as a Master.

Well, for starters, there’s no real “right way” to do anything in BDSM, outside of common sense safety precautions. And that goes doubly for decisions regarding your personal relationships. You have to decide what’s right for the two of you. Read more…

Happy belated birthday to meeeeeee! And stuff.

April 13th, 2015 1 comment

My birthday was last Monday. I am no longer lying when I tell people I’m 35.

I don’t know why I was so excited about 35. And now I am 35, and I’m all, “Haha I’m 35 and you’re not!” only just in my head because I’m pretty sure that if I started saying it to people for real, they’d think I’m crazier than they already think I am.

Hint: I am. Read more…

NS(K)Q: Q40 – How To Ask For A Collar

November 13th, 2014 Comments off

NoStupidKinkQuestionsGandhi said that if you want to change the world, you have to be the change you want to see. To that end, Insatiable Desire brings you No Stupid (Kink) Questions, a series of questions asked by novice kinksters around the web. If you have a question for us, leave it in comments, or send it to rayne (at) insatiabledesire (dot) com with “NS(K)Q” in the subject.

Question 40:

Okay so you explained what a collar is, but how do I ask for one?

So it’s like this:

(I may say that a little too often…oh well.)

Different people have different expectations.

In the years I’ve been running around the web, I’ve heard of so many different ways of doing this. For some, it’s the submissive’s responsibility to ask to be collared, and the dominant decides if this is appropriate. For others, the submissive should somehow make her desire known, but the one who does the asking is the dominant. And for still others, no one asks. The collar just goes round the neck. Read more…
