Product Review: LELO: Noir Luna Kegel Beads

LELO-Luna-Beads-noir-ben-wa-ballsOoo, what’s that?
Oh, that? That’s just the Noir Luna Kegel Beads by LELO. Aren’t they elegant? And they’re functional, too. A kegel tool that looks nice enough to “forget” on your dresser, and actually works. Who could ask for anything more, right?

What’d it come in?
LELO’s stuff comes in pretty black cardboard boxes with nice paperboard boxes on the outside. The outer box, while elegantly designed, does feature images of the toy, so your toy is best kept stored in the black box or the included black satin bag if you’re worried about prying eyes. Since M and me moved, all our LELO stuff is stacked neatly on the shelf in our closet. The boxes make that a cinch.

How’s it made?

Noir Luna Emigi Teneo Duo
Length 3″ 2 1/2″ 4 1/2″
String 3″ 4″ 2 3/4″
Width 1″ 1 1/4″ 1 1/2″

As you can see by the measurements, the Noir Luna Kegel Beads are between the Fun Factory Teneo Duo and Sinfive Emigi in size. The outer shell of the beads themselves are made of pthalates-free ABS plastic. The beads are weighted to aid with kegelcizing, and one bead has a string attached. And each of the balls fits into a silicone harness with a hole in one side to thread the string through.

What’s it for?
This product is meant to be used a few  ways:

Sexual Health
Wear these balls when you’re out for a jog, or if you’re just cleaning house, and they’ll strengthen the muscles of your pelvic floor without you having to do a thing. Looking for a more in depth workout? Play Tug of War with your vagina by inserting the balls, tightening your PC muscles, and then pulling on the string.

Extra Pleasure
You don’t even have to shake these beads to feel the weighted balls in the center rolling around. Slip them in for a night on the town, and hang on for the ride. They’ll rattle and massage your vaginal walls in ways you never dreamed. Or wear them during intercourse and marvel at how they increase both your pleasure and that of your lover.

BDSM
Many dominants use kegel balls as a way to have sexual control over their submissives in public without anyone else knowing. They’ll tell their submissive to put them in before heading out for dinner in a vanilla setting, or out for a jog.

Rayne’s Rating:
Pros: Cons:
Removable silicone harness
Can wear one or both balls
Body safe
Easy to use
Sexual health benefits
Increased sexual pleasure
Uncomfortable string
Feels like it’ll slide out
String not made of silicone

I really wanted to like these. They’re everything you could ask for in a set of kegel balls. They’re beautifully made, and small enough that you feel them without feeling completely full. The vibrations from the rattling inner balls are strong enough to notice them. And since some of us are shaped different, LELO made them so that you can wear the balls without the silicone harness.

But I have this…issue. It’s not really an issue. I mean, for some people, it might be, but for M and me, it’s not. Thing is I get really, really wet when I’m aroused. And it doesn’t take much to get me aroused. And while for some, the silicone harness provides enough friction to hold them in place if they become aroused, it’s not enough for me. They just slide right out.

And that damn string. Maybe I’m more sensitive than most? I don’t know. What I do know is it irritates my lips like no other. Walking with them in is impossible, which is a shame because I can orgasm while walking with Emigi in, and I was really, really hoping for the same affect. I mean, it’s not every day a toy designed after a best-selling kinky erotic novel walks into your bedroom.

LELO is a great manufacturer. I love most of their products. Liv and Siri are two of my favorites. This kegel set just isn’t a product I love.

Anything else I should know?
Make sure you wash these with antibacterial soap and warm water before and after use. Store them in the box they came in for easy stacking like we do, or keep them in the satin bag with which they’re packaged and drop them in your toy box. Just make sure they’re dry first.

Where’d ya get it?

The awesome folks at TabuToys.com sent me the Noir Luna Kegel Beads by LELO, free of charge, in exchange for an honest review of the toy.  TabuToys.com offers discreet, private shopping to men and women of all sexual orientations.  Aside from their selection of over 3000 hand-picked toys, they offer good reading material such as Sex Toys 101 and Buying Your First Vibrator.  And to help you pick out just the toy you’re looking for, they have an excellent Sex Toy Quiz.
