Product Review: Ellove by Fun Factory

August 20th, 2010

For whatever reason, I call the left side, in this photo, the front, and the right the back. You’ll be glad I told you this as you read the review.

Ooo, what’s that?

I’ve been lusting after Ellove by Fun Factory for quite some time.  I wanted purple.  I really wanted purple.  And every. single. time. I’ve remembered to check her stock status on the store I was shopping at, she was out of stock in purple.  What’re the odds, right?

I’d decided it just wasn’t meant to be.  I mean, look at her! She just looks like she’d ruin a woman for damn near every other toy she could hope to own.  And I figured the fact that she (I guess I’ve decided Ellove is a girl.  Odd that.) was never available in the color I just had to have was some sort of sign.

She was worth the wait.  She’s every bit as luxurious, and beautiful, and stimulating as she looks.

What’d it come in?

Fun Factory’s stuff tends to come in tan and red cardboard boxes with magnetic flaps and cut-outs so you can see the toy.  The toy is always nestled in molded plastic for protection.  They always have instructions and a lube sample.  Toyfluid if the toy is silicone, and Bodyfluid if it’s safe to use with silicone lube.  Ellove is made of silicone, so she came with Toyfluid.

How’s it made?

Click to enlarge! L-R: SinFive Nagi, FF Gigolo, FF Ellove, Siena Rondo. Yes, that’s my hair on Nagi. Yes, I washed these toys before I photographed them. I shed like a dog, what can I say?

Ellove’s look reminds me of a rattlesnake, with the flared head, arched spine and not quite flat face.

It’s nine and one half inches, end to end.  Seven and a half of those are insertable, hospital grade, phthalates and latex free, hypoallergenic silicone.  The rest is the plastic battery cap and control panel, on which you’ll find three buttons.  One’s marked with a “+”, the next with a “-“, and finally a flower or asterisk-looking button on the very bottom which serves as a turbo booster for when you need that extra jolt.

Ellove is not perfectly round.  If you measure her shaft from front to back, it has a diameter of about one and a half inches at its widest point.  If you measure it from side to side, it comes in around one and three-quarters inches.  To be honest, she’s shaped sort of like a dress manequin.

The silicone is velvety and flexible, and attracts everything under the sun, so you might want to keep toy wipes handy.  It’s rather dense, but isn’t a firm vibrator by any means.  It bends every which way with little to no effort.  And it wobbles.

The vibrations and pulsation variables are strong, deep and rumbly.  They’re not overly loud.  They travel nicely through the shaft.  And they’re easy to control.

Mine’s purple, but it comes in baby pink, too.  I needed purple.  And besides, look how pretty it looks against my other silicone vibes? Easter colors! The purple of my Ellove does not match the picture on Eden Fantasys.  It’s closer to the color pictured to the left.  Which rocks.  Cause I’m more into that purple than the purple shown on EF.

What’s it for?

Some places are calling this baby a traditional vibrator.  Which confuses the poop outta me, because they’re calling Gigolo (which is much more “traditional” in shape, what with its mostly rounded shaft and absence of texture – pictured to the left) and Siena Concerto (which is shaped almost exactly the same as Ellove) g-spot vibes.  Maybe it’s Fun Factory’s fault.  Maybe they’re confused.

Either way, Ellove is absolutely divine for g-spot stimulation.  She’s great for clitoral and erogenous zone stim.  She could probably be used anally if one is comfortable with that sort of thing.  She can be shared.  She’s perfectly suited to partner play.  She’s fairly quiet, as vibrators go, so she can be used in a room with the door closed without fear of the in-laws hearing.  You can use rechargeable batteries with Ellove, so masturbators into green living (Or those of us too poor to keep footing the battery bill! I have to admit, that’s one of the reasons I’ve been investing in toys with rechargeable capabilities.) will love her.

How is it?

Pros: Cons:
turbo booster
awesome vibes
works w/rechargeables
not waterproof
buttons difficult to press

I’m willing to bet you didn’t have to read this far to figure out how I feel about this toy.

Ellove is amazing.  She molds to all the curves inside my anatomy.  She vibrates to perfection.

Ellove is a dangerous toy in the hands of M.  And I’d be a liar if I didn’t say my favorite use of her is as a dildo.  Dear sweet Great Purple Cabbage, is she amazing in His hands.  I’m not sure how I survived it.

I can’t talk enough about how awesome the wide, dense head feels pressed against a clit.  The first time M pressed it up against mine (while I was over his knee and between paddling my rump) I nearly floated away on Cloud Nine.  I was not at all prepared for the sensation.  I keep wanting to say it’s like having an elephant trunk pressed up against your clit, but I honestly wouldn’t know what that feels like.  It does, however, feel eerily similar to having a cockhead rubbed against your clit.  Besides the fact that, you know, a cockhead doesn’t vibrate.  Without help.

I like it.  A lot.  And would totally be begging to use it today, except my Laya Spot drained my AAA batteries again.  So I only have two.  So I have to wait.

We’re so getting new rechargeables next payday.

Anything else I should know?

Use only water based lube.  Toyfluid comes highly recommended.  I am absolutely in love with it.

Don’t submerge this toy, but feel free to take it in the shower.

Wash it with soap and water.  Use a special toy cleaner.  Wipe it with a 10% bleach solution.  Then toss it in the drawer with the rest of your silicone.

Where’d ya get it?

I got this toy from that store but you can pick it up from Fun Factory.

Sorry, but I’m curious why you recommended that this be used anally. It doesn’t have a flared base, making it unsafe for anal play.

@Sophia Well, to start, I didn’t actually recommend it for anal use. I said it “could probably be used for anal if one is comfortable with that sort of thing.” Emphasis on “probably.”

But most importantly, the average anal passage, from anus to rectum, is between three and six inches long. The chances of a nine-and-a-half inch toy getting sucked up into your butt and becoming irretrievable are slim to none, with or without a flared base.

By all means, if you’re not comfortable with the odds, don’t use the toy anally. I haven’t. But honestly, unless you fall really hard on your ass with the toy inserted, I think you’re safe. You can avoid that with a little bondage. =D
