Product Review: Rabbit Habit by Vibratex

July 23rd, 2010

Ooo, what’s that?

Oprah Magazine calls the Rabbit Habit by Vibratex “The Rolls Royce of Sex Toys”, and I call whoever said that a “Sex Toy n00b”.  Keep reading to see why.

What’d it come in?

Rabbit Habit comes in a clear plastic box with copper flower outlines.  Tucked in the bottom is a red cardboard insert that sports all the Rabbit Habit’s claims to fame, and directions on the inside of the toy.

How’s it made?

This dual stimulator is made of jelly-like purple vinyl, with an off-white plastic handle/battery compartment.  It’s nine and a half inches, all told, with about five insertable inches.  It’s got a diameter of just under an inch and a half at its widest point, and it’s squishy enough that I think it would be comfortable for just about any user.  Even those who usually enjoy thinner vibes.

It has an adorable bunny rabbit on the clit bullet with long, thin, soft ears.  The bullet vibrates ever so nicely, and the ears nestle nicely on either side of my clit stimulating all of it at once.  It’s about two and three-quarters inches tall, and seems like it may reach just about anyone’s anatomy comfortably.

The head has a little face on it with arms and a beaded necklace maybe? In the middle of the shaft are white rotating pearls.  When you turn the on the rotating head, these beads rotate along with it.

On the handle are two slide controls.  One is for the rotating head, and the other is for the vibrating rabbit.  And on the back is the battery cap which easily (too easily?) slides down.

What’s it for?

The Rabbit Habit’s best use is solo dual stimulation, but it can be used in partner play.  Its rotating head stimulates the g-spot while the fluttering bunny ears stimulate the clitoris.  Beginners and experienced users will find this toy easy to use.

How is it?

Rayne’s Rating:
Pros: Cons:
easy battery cap removal battery cap pops off in use
handle rotates instead of head
gaps in pearls

I still have yet to figure out why “cheap looking” seems to be synonymous for “non-threatening” in the sex toy business.  But it’s true.  The cheaper a toy looks, the less threatening people find it.  And it makes me giggle.

But besides the cheap look and feel of this toy, the way it’s made is excruciatingly frustrating.

It’s powerful so long as you only have one setting turned on.  And it’s not overly loud.  But that’s about where my inner toy snob starts screaming.

The battery cap popped off no less than six times in the first minute of use.  It’s almost as if the manufacturer ran out of pearls when they got to my vibe, because there’s huge gaps in the pearls.  Either my muscles are too strong, or this toy’s too weak, because it doesn’t turn inside at all, even when I relax.

The only thing I like about this toy is the rabbit.  Which is positioned perfectly for my anatomy, and flutters quite nicely against my clit.

Anything else I should know?

You can use water or silicone based lube with this toy.  Wash it with soap and warm water or a toy cleaner that’s safe for vinyl.  It’s less porous than jelly, but still porous enough that you should use a condom when you share it.  Probably when you use it at all, but I am a rebel, and I rarely use condoms for toys I’m not sharing between orifices or people.

Be very careful when washing this toy.  Be sure you get as little water inside the battery compartment as possible.  This is tricky because the battery compartment is not even a little water tight.  But do the best you can.  If you do get water inside, let it dry before installing the batteries.

Where’d ya get it?

The awesome folks at TabuToys.com sent me the Rabbit Habit, free of charge, in exchange for an honest review of the toy.  TabuToys.com offers discreet, private shopping to men and women of all sexual orientations.  Aside from their selection of over 3000 hand-picked toys, they offer good reading material such as Sex Toys 101 and Buying Your First Vibrator.  And to help you pick out just the toy you’re looking for, they have an excellent Sex Toy Quiz.
