New Shampoo, Getting Healthy and Plugged at the Office

March 10th, 2010

Did I tell you I switched shampoos? I can’t remember.

We’ve been using Suave forever.  Normal Suave, Suave Professionals and Suave Daily Clarifying.  It’s cheap.  It smells nice.  It cleans.

But it leaves my hair looking like shit.

While I must admit that Suave Daily Clarifying works better than normal Suave, and Suave Professionals (all the versions but one… I forget which one) works even better than that, my coarse, half-way-between-straight-and-wavy hair just refuses to be tamed by any and all Suave products.

So after bugging Carrie a billion times about what she used before she got all uppity and started using salon brands, I began the process of talking M into believing I needed better shampoo.  And it worked! He let me buy Pantene’s stuff for long hair.  Beautiful Lengths, maybe? Anyway…

So I’ve been using this new shampoo for twenty days.  I wash my hair every other day, so that means, what? Ten washes? I condition every time.  Did with Suave, too.  And here’s the differences I’ve noticed:

  • My hair isn’t anywhere near as frizzy.
  • It looks much healthier.
  • It’s stronger.
  • It falls out less.
  • My hair is actually half-way between wavy and straight, not half-way between wavy and curly.
  • It stays clean longer.
  • I don’t have to use anywhere near as much product (shampoo, conditioner, or styling products) as I did when I was using Suave.
  • My hair’s no where near as dry as it used to be.

I can actually wear my hair down now without worrying about how poofy and frizzy and gross it looks.  Which is probably at least part of the reason it’s breaking less.  But! That’s still a plus for Pantene, because I’m leaving it down more because it looks better, and it looks better because I’m using Pantene.

Why am I telling you this? Just in case some of my submissive readers are having a hard time convincing their owners that you get what you pay for when it comes to shampoo.  There’s no doubt in my mind that Carrie’s hair is still better than mine cause the silly snot is paying for salon brands.  But I’m on the fast track to good hair, and it’s all thanks to her, so I suppose she’s allowed to be a silly snot.  😛

——-

We’re in the process of “getting healthy”.  I know I’ve told you that.  I’ve probably mentioned it about a thousand times.

We don’t eat canned vegetables anymore.  We try to keep real fruit juice in the house.  None of that stuff that’s sweetened with corn syrup.  That’s just as bad as soda! We’ve cut back on unhealthy snacks.  And we try to eat dinner no later than 6pm.  On days like today, we don’t get home till around 6pm, though, which sorta sucks.

I have two things I want to do that I’m really not sure I’ll be able to do.  I have NO will power.

I want to stop eating junk food altogether, aside from special occasions.  And I mean real special occasions, like birthdays and holidays and anniversaries.  That means no chips, chocolate, candy, cake, ice cream…I’m a junk food addict, so this is really difficult for me.

I forget who I was talking to who was all “Just don’t eat as much.”  M says that all the time.  I’m not sure how to impress upon Him that that doesn’t work for me.  I can’t just not eat as much when the bag’s right there in front of me.  Hell, I can’t avoid snatching a chip (or candy, or whatever) or ten when the bag’s in front of Him.

And I want to drop soda.  I’ve dropped soda before.  It was easy.  I’m not really sure why I’ve been having so much trouble dropping it this time.  Probably my caffeine addiction has something to do with it.  And I’m sure the fact that M drinks soda like it’s going out of style doesn’t help.  But He’s been doing better with it, too.

It’s almost as if channeling what little will-power I do have into being a good slave has destroyed my ability to use it in other areas.

I don’t care what adverse affects coffee has on the body.  I’m not giving it up unless M makes me.  Ever.

We’re walking every day.  That’s no joke.  Every single day we get off our fat asses, either on His lunch or after work, and go for a walk.  How long we walk depends on the terrain and how we’re feeling.  So far, we’ve been walking at least thirty minutes, and anywhere from 1-3 miles.  It’s been… six days, so far? With the walking, not the eating right.

I’m sleeping better.  My mood is better.  And here’s where it gets into TMI territory but i figure half the stuff I share here is TMI, so you’ll survive.

My bowels are working correctly again.  I won’t go into detail, so you don’t have to go all squeamish on me.  Just know that I poop the right way now.  =D

——

I’ve been plugged since about 1:30pm.  I’m probably going to have to take it out before we head home.  I had the genius idea that today would be the perfect time to give my new silicone lube a second chance, but boy… was I wrong.

Pfun won’t stay in! No matter which way I turn it.  And what’s worse? I barely used any lube at all! So I guess we’ll stick to water based lubes for plugs from now on.  Which really isn’t that much of an issue considering most of our plugs are silicone.

——

And finally…

We’ll be beginning my birthday celebration in eight days, so keep your eyes peeled!

i’ve never used Pantene stuff, i still use Suave Professional, but in the past when my hair was permed, i swore by Infusium 23. That stuff is a godsend for frizzy hair, but fuck-damn is it expensive. Hence the past tense usage. 🙁

Me too on the self-control when it comes to junk food. Obeying Him is easier than avoiding soda. The Man is a lot like Melen when it comes to pop…and damn, how can you pass up a can when the fridge is freekin full of them?

If you figure it out, wanna share the secret with your poor poor subbiesister (me)?

We’ve been working on healthier living too and since we’ve started exercising my snoring has gotten better and I’m eating better too. Master has lost a bit of weight and I’ve noticed the same darn thing with my bowels 😉 Let’s just say that Master likes the more available hole as a result. HA!
